Being a bride during the mehendi function isn’t easy. firstly, you have to sit still for long hours in one place while the artist does the job. Then you need your hair to behave and outfit to be comfortable. But on the other hand, you don’t really want to sit in your pyjama either. After all, you are the bride and you deserve to dress up! So the bottom line is, you need an outfit that is practical, easy to manage, yet, is pretty and stands out.
Solution: Leave the bling, and go for the colours. Heavy work will always make the outfit more difficult to manage and uncomfortable to wear. So instead, opt for light outfits and instead, load up on the colours and fabrics.
The first thing that came to mind were these Payal Singhal suit’s from a few seasons back. Colourful, easy to manage, and oh-so-perfect for the bride during her mehendi function. If you want a little extra drama, the left one is pretty perfect with it’s gorgeous fabric flying around and a jacket, but if you think that will be difficult to manage, the one on the right is perfect!
Shibani Dandekar had also posted a photograph of herself in a Payal Singhal outfit. Bold colours, and we are liking.
How can Masaba be left far behind if we’re talking colours? And here, Mini Mathur shows us a perfect way the bride can wear a saree. Pallu neatly pinned to keep the hands free.
Not sure if this is Masaba, but this outfit that Huma Qureshi wears so well will be quite nice for a bride during mehendi. Love the bright blue and the wide legged salwar. Of course the sleeves can be made shorter, or folded.
And lastly, both Alia and Sophie posted super pretty pictures of themselves in Manish Malhotra outfits. While Alia’s outfit looks like a more subdued shade of pink, it is accompanied by subtle bling. Sophie’s outfit on the other hand has no bling, but oh, this shade of pink! Both perfect for the mehendi bride!
