Pernia Qureshi During Jaanisaar Promotions

Pernia Qureshi recently made her debut with ‘Jaanisaar’ and we loved her looks while while she was on promotion duty! She was so on point with all trends! While the movie released last month, it’s never too late to look at some gorgeous Indian outfits, is it?

Let’s start with the florals – Floral floor length anarkali and floral lehenga.

She even gave us three sightings of lovely palazzo suits.

The essential piece in every Indian wardrobe – the anarkali. She wore two lovely ones. Especially digging the pink chikankari one!

AICW ’15 – Mehendi & Sangeet / Engagement Outfit Inspiration For The Bride

SO MANY FASHION WEEKS! So many drool worthy outfits coming your way!!

Starting with the Amazon India Couture Week 2015, we’ll begin with our picks for Mehendi and Sangeet outfitsfor the bride!

Mehendi Outfits For The Bride

If you are a bride who loves her lehengas, opt for simple, yet vibrant lehengas. Let the colour and the silhouette do the talking and keep the embroideries to minimum. We loved the classic Anju Modi lehenga and the fun, colourful lehenga from Debarun by Heroine.

A-Pink-Lehengas

If you are a bride however who wants something lighter, easier to manage and very ‘Mehendi appropriate’ at the same time, this Varun Bal gown would be our pick. (PS: This gown is full sleeves, so for a bride-to-be wearing it on her mehendi, it may require some modifications.)

A-Mehendi-RohitBahl

And if you’re looking to go for something different, we loved the thought of this Rahul Mishra jacket lehenga as a Mehendi outfit – so unusual and lovely! (Again, modifications on the sleeve may be required)

Sangeet/Engagement Outfits For The Bride

The Debarun collection by Heroine really caught our eyes. They had beautiful lehengas, and it almost seemed like they have something for every bride!

For the brides who want to really step up their game (Come on, a wedding only happens once), this Rimple and Harpreet Narula lehenga took our breath away!

And for the brides who want to take this opportunity to wear something spectacular, but different, these Gaurav Gupta and Sabyaschi lehengas (sort of?) would be our picks!

Karisma Kapoor Pushing Indian Fashion Boundaries

Let’s be honest, 90% of the times, Indian fusion clothes just don’t work. When it comes to Indian clothes, classic is often the route to go, in terms of silhouettes especially.

But Karisma Kapoor is an exception. She has given us several Indian looks which are unusual silhouettes and she carries them off super well.

We’re bringing you a few of these looks.

We start with one of the most recent look. A peplum style inspired kurta with patiala salwar. On most people, this look would have been a little too weird, but Karisma Kapoor really works this outfit.

Also, it was a smart move by the designer to keep the colours more neutral rather than using bright colours that we often associate with Indian fashion. It helps balance the outfit.

Karisma-Kapoor-Patiala-Suit

At another promotional event, the actress went with a patiala suit again, but this time with a slightly different silhouette for the salwaar with a high low kurta. The look is so well put together, especially with the top bun!

Karisma-Kapoor-punjabi-suit

The next look is one that’s super hard to pull off, but the Kapoor lady looks super chic!

Karisma didn’t overlook the good ol’ anarkali either. Here she wears a classic floor length anarkali but mixes things up by adding a long, embroidered jacket.

Karisma-Kapoor-Yellow-Anarkali

When it comes to saree silhouettes, it was two looks that really stood out for us! The first one below is what she wore at Anamika Khanna’s recent show.

Karisma-Kapoor-Saree

And the second one was more of a lehenga saree, but she kept things interesting with an unusual drape which would have looked sloppy on most people, but obviously not her!

Here’s a major lesson we learnt: When it comes to down unusual silhouettes or styles while wearing Indian outfits, styling is really, really important and that’s what really takes each of these looks a notch higher!

Gauhar’s Anrkalis At ‘Oh Yaara Ainvayi Ainvayi Lut Gaya’s’ Promotions

Gauhar Khan recently starred in a Punjabi movie and gave us quite a few anarkali sightings. While the anarkalis were relatively simple, it’s the colours that caught our attention. Pastel and summer perfect!

LFW’15 Inspiraton – Summer Wedding – Sangeet & Wedding Outfits For The Sister Of The Bride

Moving on to sangeet and the wedding, here is some solid inspiration for the sister/best friend of the bride.

We’re starting with a floral lehenga from Sabyasachi’s latest collection. Love it!

Bridal inspiration sister - sangeet

Sabyasachi wasn’t the only one who brought on his floral game. Arpita Mehta brought it on too.

Anushree Reddy’s lehengas are always drool worthy! They yellow one is quite wedding worthy while the pink lehenga would be perfect for a sangeet.

If your family is chilled out, you can definitely consider being a vision in white with these three pretty white lehengas by Anamika Khanna, Anushree Reddy & Payal Singhal respectively.

Manish Malhotra is a designer who often goes big on bling, but he keeps things subtle in the lehenga below. However, the dreamy addition of net over the yellow fabric still ensures a “wedding worthy” feeling.

And our last outfit goes out to the sisters and friends who prefer anarkalis over lehengas. Crushing on this floral anarkali by Soumitra Marg.

LFW ’15 Inspiration – Summer Wedding – Mehendi Outfits For Sister Of The Bride

From the bride, we’re moving to the sister or even the best friend of the bride. This is easily the best position to be in. You get to look amazing, wear some seriously good clothes, be behind the scenes as well as be a legit part of the party.

Now getting to the point, Mehendi is something where the sister/best friend should ideally opt to wear something that is easily manageable because chances are, they will be the ones in charge.

Our first pick is this gorgeous purple and lavender lehenga/gown from Manish Malhotra. It’s light, flowey, colourful and most definitely manageable.

If you are looking to be in a territory that is somewhere between modern and traditional, this Shruti Sancheti lehenga is on point.

If you do however want to play up the drama because “eff absolute comforts, such weddings don’t come again,” this suit from the Harper Bazaar’s show is perfect!

And for those wanting to keep things simple and chic, this patiala suit from “Not Like You” is quite perfect. We’re loving the laid back, yet well put together vibe.

Light Pink & Blue – Inspiration for Summer 2015

Pink and blue is a classic combination of sorts. Over the years, various shades from both, Team Pink and Team Blue have gotten together to produce beautiful results.

So we take a look at this classic combination with lighter shades of both colours and draw some inspiration for the incoming summer.

We start off with this gorgeous anarkali lehenga with sorbet shades of blue and pink. Such yummy colours!

Next, we came across a picture that isn’t even a complete outfit picture, but the colours were enough to get us hooked.

How perfect is the lehenga below for the summer bride to wear on her sangeet night? Or the bride/groom’s sister or best friend during the wedding itself. Perfect dose of bling!

Pick Up The Prints

With summer almost here, most of the regular Indian wear takes a back seat. It’s almost impossible to wear those outfits with heavy fabrics and extensive embroideries during the season.

But when a big occasion comes around, you still need to step it up, and that is when prints come to the rescue. They take your look up a notch, whilst still keeping the whole outfit light and summer manage-able.

We bring you a few printed outfits we adore!

Winter Bride 2014-15 – Suits For Punjabi Brides

How can we forget the Punjabi brides? We know there are lots of you out there, and we bring you some inspiration for your wedding.

PS: We’re mostly covering anarkalis in this post.

Starting with two, heavy, floor length anarkalis. One, Sargun wore for one of her wedding functions and we love the pink colour and two, is a classic red and gold outfit by Pratap Sons.

If you are looking to do heavy, but not floor length, this anarkali Kareena Kapoor wore a while back serves as the perfect inspiration.

But if you are looking to do heavy with not too much bling, below are two perfect options. One, Neha Sharma was spotted wearing (we’re not too sure which designer) and the second is by Anoli Shah.

Confused and looking for a middle path? This anarkali by Aishwarya Design Studio has got the bling, is bride worthy, but  still light and lovely.

And if you’re a bride worried about being too bogged down by the heaviness of your outfits, but still want to stand out as a bride, this anarkali by Tarn Tahilliani might just serve as the perfect inspiration. The layers and layers of elegant fabric makes sure you stand out, but the minimal work makes sure you aren’t weighed down by the outfit.

And to end it, we take a look at Sonakshi Sinha’s pink patiala bridal suit from the movie Son Of Sardar. Loving the riot of pink!
