Light Engagement Lehengas – 2015 Summer

We’re putting a little break on our Lakme Fashion Week Inspiration posts to bring you something we realized a lot of you were searching for – Engagement lehenga inspiration.

April – July is the peak season for engagements so quite naturally, there are so many of you searching for outfits for this event.

When it comes to engagement, a lot of to-be- brides prefer light lehengas and unusal colours. These Payal Singal lehengas displayed at Amazon Fashion Week are on point on both the above points.

We also came across these two lehengas from Sahasra Couture and Vidhi Wadhwan respectively and we love the idea of pairing a phulkari choli with a plain, flowey lehenga.

Powder blue colour has been in trend for quite a few months now and we loved this lehenga from Anupamaa.

For those of you who prefer classics, these lehengas below are the way to go

Engagement 2015 ochre Sky 2

Would you look at the floral blouse on the above Ochre Sky lehenga? LOVE IT!

Aishwarya Design Studio bring in the florals too, but in the lehenga instead of the choli.

Manish Malhotra’s Pink Lehengas

There’s something about the way he makes them. The shades, the flare, the well thought of intricate details.

Sridevi too, wore won on the last to last season of Jhalak Dikh Laja. The plain stunning ghaghra combined with a golden choli. Love!Image

Madhuri wore one to the finale of Jhalak Dikh Laja in 2013. Perfect for a sangeet/engagement of the bride or for the sister of the bride/groom to wear. And what a happy colour!

Would you look a the big flare on these lehengas?Image

Big borders. Simple lehengas.

And we end with a pretty simpleton, dual shade pink lehenga.

So the song has already taken to the charts big time, but if you do like lehengas, this one is a treat for you. The background dancers are all dressed in vibrant lehengas with contrasting borders. These will make perfect lehengas for a Sangeet, a best friend’s wedding and in case you are a bride, a smaller function.

Apologies about the bad quality. They’re screenshots from the video which you can see here.
