LFW ’15 Inspiration – Summer Wedding – Wedding Lehengas For the Bride

There were 3 lehengas that stood out from Lakme Fashion Week 2015 which would be perfect for the bride. Not that we’re complaining! This is after all fashion week and not bridal week.

The first is this beauty from Suneet Verma. Such happy colours!

Summer is also a time when brides look for ways to cut down the ‘heaviness’ of the lehenga and this is mostly done by keeping the work on your lehenga simple. But what if you don’t want to do that? You only get to be a bride once, after all! Well, if that is the case, we really suggest this light pink Payal Singhal lehenga. There’s work all over, but the colour keeps it light to the eyes.

And the third is this Yogesh Chaudhary outfit. We’re still a little unsure whether it’s a lehenga or not, considering the fact that the length is not exactly that of a lehenga. However, regardless of what it is, this is the perfect example of how you can bring in both, a bright colour, and heavy work on your lehenga for a summer wedding. If you look closely, there aren’t any stones, or too many different materials in the embroidery. Just one kind of thread and style used all over, makin it easy on the eyes and relatively lighter.

Indian Cricketers And Their Brides

A lot of to-be brides look to Bollywood for lehenga inspiration. It is, after all, full of the most beautiful and right on trend clothes. However, when looking for inspiration, it wouldn’t be a bad move to look at the weddings of our very own Indian cricketers. And below, you’ll see why.

Ashish Nehra got married to wife Rushma Nehra in 2009. She wore a gorgeous pink coloured lehenga and kept the look simple, yet so pretty.

Virender Sehwag may have gotten married to Aarti Ahlawat back in 2004, but one look at her Reception (or a pre-wedding function?) lehenga and you know it’s one that can even be worn today.

It’s a known fact Sakshi Dhoni has a great sense of style. So it comes as no surprise that she chose opted to wear a classic Sabyasachi for her wedding.

Shikhar Dhawan, a current favourite in cricket, married half Bengali, half British girl Ayesha Mukherjee who wore a bright pink lehenga with a light and dreamy duppatta.

Gautam Gambhir married model Natasha Jan a few years back and what gorgeous items of clothing she whipped out to wear. A fusion gown for a pre-wedding function and a big flare-coral coloured lehenga.

So there you have it. Now you know, the next time an Indian cricketer is getting married, there is no reason not to be interested. Even if you are not into the sport.
